Lore of the Land - Whitby and Beyond PRE-ORDER

It's finally here - the third instalment in our Lore of the Land series! This one’s been a long time in the making, requiring far more time mapping, walking, researching, writing, illustrating, and designing than either of the previous two issues.

Whitby was a daunting prospect, a famous town with a storied past, and we wanted to make sure we did it justice. It is a town alive with its history. An alluring place which, once experienced, seems to routinely reach out and invite you back.

Once we’d visited, we simply couldn’t resist delving deep into its folklore, and we keep coming back for more. The town’s famous landmarks are hard to miss, and will be visited by most who make the journey out to the North Yorkshire coast, so we thought we’d delve a little deeper, and go a little more obscure with our recommended route. What we found, just a short walk away, was overwhelming. Viking burials and the Green Man, castle ruins and ancient standing stones, fierce fairies in the woods and the resting places of local giants – it’s all within walking distance of Whitby.

Pick up a copy and head to the woods, but don't forget to keep your eye on the map, as it's easy to get pixie-led when the mist rolls in...
